Jason Wamba grew up in Cisco, Texas. He was raised in a rural area influenced by his maternal grandparents, Doug, and Betty Shults. Because of this relationship, he developed a love for horses, rodeo, and agriculture.

While he didn't realize this back then, Jason was developing a strong work ethic, leadership skills and practical aptitudes until later. Then when it was time for the military, and he chose to focus on becoming a Heavy Wheeled Mechanic and Recovery Specialist. He made this choice, so he could utilize those common-sense leadership skills to impact others while serving two tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduing Freedom.

But in the year 2008, he decided to leave the Army and return to his passion, agriculture at the Georgia Department of Agriculture as a Warehouse Compliance Specialist.  It was at the point he decided to take the opportunity to explore additional education in agribusiness at Ogeechee Technical College.  After completing the program in 2014, he developed a respect for the importance of education, supporting colleagues, and giving back to those that paved the way. In 2015 he was promoted to Assistant Director of the Warehouse and Bonding division of the Georgia Department of Agriculture, overseeing the storage of grain, cotton and the purchasing of produce, and livestock for the state of Georgia.  In 2006, he met his wife and after a couple of years together—welcomed their first daughter, Cassidy.  He is excited to watch his young daughter grow and enjoy his love for horses. Jason believes that although obstacles arise, he strives to maintain a dedicated approach to everything he does.  In his free time Jason enjoys team roping, announcing equine events, and training horses.
